President's Message

Dear FACCOC Members and Supporters,
It has been an honor to serve this fine, vibrant organization of selfless community leaders. Volunteering at FACCOC for the past four years has been a rewarding experience that has given me the opportunity to meet extraordinary people who inspire me to continue serving the Filipino-American community. Moreover, it has opened new windows of opportunities to hone my professional and personal growth.
While my one-year term as president of FACCOC is relatively short, my service to the Filipino-American community is a lifetime commitment. Our theme tonight “Think OC Act Globally” will continue to be the core foundation of our goals in 2012 to address the needs of three key stakeholders who matter most.
- Members. Our members will be the center of our attention. We will serve their needs and provide them high value for joining FACCOC. We will create an environment that will engage young entrepreneurs and members that they may gain greater value and necessary exposure to help their businesses. We will provide a platform for personal and business development, learning, networking, pursuing entrepreneurial ventures, identifying business and investment opportunities in the local and global arena.
- Corporate sponsors. The generosity of our corporate sponsors who continue to believe in our advocacy will be repaid by helping promote their programs to our members who in turn can benefit from the myriad of opportunities available to them.
- Strategic partners. In keeping with our global theme, we will continue to seek out strategic partnerships with other business and Fil-Am organizations. We will align ourselves with people whose goals are in line with ours that we may arrive at a win-win situation for all because we believe that our success is directly linked to the success of others.
The latest 2010 U.S. census indicates that the Filipino population in the U.S. has grown to 2.55 million, with a sizable 1.195 million residing in California. The significance of this data is not left unnoticed to our stakeholders that the Filipinos can be a powerful, influential market. During these challenging economic times, FACCOC is being presented an opportunity and responsibility to help the increasing number of our kababayans and young people become successful entrepreneurs.
As president, it is my solemn duty to serve with honor, integrity and commitment to make FACCOC an organization our stakeholders can be proud of. I am blessed to serve alongside a very talented, dynamic, volunteer-minded board members and ambassadors. As we all remind one another, this is “OUR” chamber. We serve and give our time, money and talent not for our personal gain but purely for the love of FACCOC and the Filipino-American community. Please join us in our quest to make a difference and leave a legacy.
Maraming salamat po.
Sincerely,
Para Anderson
