FOUR SIMPLE HABITS OF REFERRABILITY

Here's my gift to you, our beloved FACCOC members -  a nugget of wisdom that I learned from one of my life coaches.  I thought this might be a helpful reminder as we pause from our daily grind of running our businesses and continue our quest for personal and professional development.

Do you want people to give you glowing reference?  If so, you must follow these four simple habits.  What is a HABIT?  A habit is something you don't have to think about in order to do.
What is REFERRABILITY?  It is when someone likes you enough that they will tell other people about you.

Make these 4 habits a part of your daily life and soon you will not even have to think of doing them.  They will become an integral part of your journey towards personal and business success.

HABIT #1.  SHOW UP ON TIME.  If you cannot show up on time at your meeting or appointment, show up EARLY.  If you cannot avoid being late, call ahead of time that you are running late.  If at all possible, never arrive late to a meeting.

HABIT #2.  DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU WOULD DO  (DWYSYWD)  -  I call it commitment.  What is commitment?  It is doing whatever it takes to get things done.  No excuses.  You build instant credibility and respect when you make this simple habit part of your life.

HABIT #3.  FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED -   When you take on a task or responsibility, commit to seeing it to completion.  Do not quit halfway and give up no matter how hard it is.  Life is not a sprint.  It is a marathon.   In order to win the race, you must finish it.  We all have heard it - quitters are losers.  Sadly, majority of people give up too easily and never achieve their dreams.  Whether you are given a minute task or awarded a position of great importance, you must finish your assignment to completion.  It is a winning strategy as well as it is rewarding.

HABIT #4.  SAY "PLEASE" AND "THANK YOU" -  Never underestimate the power of these simple words of courtesy and good manners.  They go a long way to get you noticed and respected.

If you are not already doing these 4 simple habits, then you will continue to have difficulty getting people to like you or to refer you to others.  Start developing these good habits now and soon people  will be giving you rave reviews.

I hope you find these tips helpful.
